Bacteriostatic Water for Peptide Reconstitution
Bacteriostatic Water (BAC Water) is sterile water for injection containing 0.9% benzyl alcohol as an antimicrobial preservative. It is the universally recommended reconstitution vehicle for lyophilised research peptides. Unlike sterile water for injection (WFI), BAC Water prevents microbial growth in multi-use vials, extending the working life of reconstituted peptide solutions.

Research Information
- Contains 0.9% w/v benzyl alcohol as a bacteriostatic antimicrobial agent
- pH range: 4.5–7.0 — compatible with the majority of research peptide preparations
- Sterile filtered through 0.22 µm membrane prior to filling
- Extends reconstituted peptide vial working life compared to plain sterile water

Storage Conditions

- Once opened, use within 28 days
- Do not use if solution is cloudy or contains visible particulates
- Keep away from direct sunlight and heat sources
Safe Handling
- Use aseptic technique for all transfers
- Clean vial septum with 70% isopropyl alcohol before each use
- Use sterile, single-use syringes for withdrawal
- Label vial with opening date
- Discard after 28 days of opening or if contamination is suspected
